How To Get Ready: To Party

London-based model and runway regular Eve Delf knows better than most how to get ready for an event. She’s an after-party fixture who frequents Soho’s infamous Groucho Club with her model friends to sip martinis into the small hours. Here’s how she prepares for the occasion.

“Getting ready for a party is almost the best bit. It is pretty much guaranteed that I will be getting ready for a night out with my friends and fellow models Sam Rollinson and Charlotte Wiggins. We are like three sisters that all have incredible clothes to steal. All the candles will be lit, and a mixture of Rolling Stones, Shawn Mendez, Talking Heads and Kasabian will be playing. Me and the girls have quite a varied combination of music tastes. Of course, the first drink has to be champagne. We don’t mess about.”

“For me, a facemask is a must before a night out. I like the Glam Glow Gravity Mud mask because it’s fun to use and the formula is actually shiny. Once I’ve done that and my face feels fresh and smooth, I’ll apply La Mer’s face moisturiser. I tend to do Charlotte’s and my makeup using a Tom Ford pallet to give us a classic brown smoky eye. I own a lot of makeup, although I wouldn’t say I actually wear a lot of it. I love finding the next new thing and playing around with it. The products I use religiously are Nars highlighting cream concealer, Benefit ‘They’re Real’ mascara, Chanel red lipstick and loose powder, Tom Ford highlight and contour pallet and the Urban Decay naked eyeshadow pallet. I will wash, blow dry and tong my hair using Living Proof’s heat protection spray and nourishing oil to make my hair lovely and soft.”

“I think when I go to an event I tend to be quite dressed up in heels and dresses. But for a normal night out with my girls, we probably all vouch for jeans and shirts. A Saint Laurent blazer over a shirt, a pair of jeans and a Gucci loafer will always win in my opinion.

Before we leave the house I’ll spray myself with my all-time favourite perfume. Then we’ll head to the Earl Of Essex in Islington for a drink with our mates, most likely followed by Bloomsbury Lanes for dancing, bowling, ping pong, karaoke and a good game of pool. Then off to The Groucho for Twinkles and Pornstar Martinis. Where the rest of the night takes us . . . who knows . . . I certainly won’t remember.”
