On Trend: The Spring Edit

Spring 2021 calls for a new perspective. As we transition out of a winter spent in lockdown and get ready to embrace fashion’s fun side once again, we’re going beyond the surface. Front and centre are a line-up of our most-wanted brands and hottest new arrivals from Stone Island, Casablanca, Kenzo, Palm Angels and more, ft. bold looks, statement pieces and the biggest trends of SS21.

After a year spent getting reacquainted with nature, it was only natural that our new comfort zone would heavily feature colours from Mother Earth herself. Moncler has gone so far as to decorate their raincoat with cliff views, while their khaki green cargo trousers hit the new trend for all things loose and oversized. Comfort is key here.

The SS21 collections were awash with colour, from head-to-toe red to soft pastels, but it’s the pops of vivid blues, hot pinks and electric greens that really caught our eye. Fancy dipping your toe in? Layer bright, sky blues with just a hint of acid yellow like Stone Island for an easy, definitely wearable, take on the trend.

What’s one better than a statement shirt? A matching set, of course. And the king of beautifully crafted silk shirts, out-there prints, and pure holiday vibes are LA-based brand Casablanca. Whether you want yours with salmon pink waves (the line de jour, see the Ultrafragola mirror by Italian architect Ettore Sottsass that’s taking Instagram by storm for reference) or made for a day at the tennis club, just add bright, white socks and ‘70s-inspired sneaks.

A trend made for those tricky spring days when you’re never quite sure what the weather will do next. Layer hoodies under gilets, gilets over shirts or on top of an oversized trench coat as per the latest styling craze and shed as needed. Kenzo has cleverly created a reversible design that will give you two looks in one just for the occasion.

The fashion world’s obsession with all things workwear-inspired continues. This season it’s about military shapes and field jackets, with cargo colours and high functionality taking centre stage. Palm Angels nail the brief with ample pockets, elevated drawstrings and their signature lettering.
