On Trend: The Best Of London Fashion Week

That’s a wrap. Another London Fashion Week is over – six days of experimental style, off-the-scale runways and after-the-after-parties has drawn to a triumphant close. Whilst we lapped up the galvanising political messages at Vivienne Westwood and the nostalgic femininity of the Ashley Williams show (that saw her collaborate with Jimmy Choo on those satin shoes), we found just as much style inspiration between the air kisses, flashbulbs and front row politics outside on the street. Famed for its off-beat chic approach to streetstyle, the London fashion crowd were out in full force and dressed to the nines. Here are three of the weekend’s hottest trends and how to wear them.

NEON HIGHLIGHTS

Prepare to glow. This season, make yourself highly visible with green and orange flouro accents. For those not ready to rock the full highlighter look, a nod to the trend through Gucci and Fendi’s tinted accessories is a good entry point.

COLOUR BLOCKING

Alongside hair slides, cardigans and white pointed boots, bold colour was one of the standout trends of the season – made all the more obvious by contrast to our abiding love of neutrals. Wear it in blocks of rose-tinted hues like this vision in pink by pairing Marni’s silk and cashmere separates with a studded punk-chic Valentino handbag.

NEUTRAL SHADES

Camel, chestnut, sand and beige. Retro colours and a neutral palette feel fresh when worn with chunky gold jewellery and textured materials this season. Pair with bright white pieces and futuristic shades to keep your look modern.
