Hungry for summer? You’re in luck. The warm weather is finally here, and it’s time for easy living, laid-back dressing and long, languid afternoons in the sun. Cue your summer wardrobe update and our guide to the season’s hero pieces and trends. Throw in a little sunshine, a few Aperol spritz and a holiday or two, and you’ve got yourself a recipe for the best summer to date. From elevated denim essentials to the season’s unlikely colour trend, here’s what you need to know for SS19.

On the menu for SS19: elevated denim with a difference as summer’s staple material gets a new-season upgrade. From bleached, distressed jeans at Off-White to raw denim at Prada, and disco-inspired jackets by Saint Laurent, denim is anything but boring this summer.

It might not be a colour you instantly associate with summer, but beige was big on all of the SS19 runways. A super-chic alternative to pastels and brights, Fendi has been crowned queen of the shade, serving up a statement mix of FF pieces in oatmeal, brown, and taupe. Be more beige.

NEWSFLASH: a fashion house’s iconic styles are often also their best. We return to them year after year, and this season the tried-and-tested classics have been given a fresh upgrade for summer. Burberry check belt bags, Gucci logo swimsuits and Saint Laurent’s heart-shaped Lou Lou sunglasses are all top of our warm-weather wishlists. I scream, you scream, we all scream for fashion.
