Style Advisor: The Party Edit

Style Advisor: The Party Edit

The festivities in 2020 might not be quite what we're used to, but as some of our favourite FLANNELS tastemakers show, the party season is still yours for the taking. From DJs to stylists, rappers and models, these are the must-have party pieces curated by those in the know.

Here, Piers James, Lewis Munro, Kim Turnbull and Emerald Rose Lewis showcase their party edits and give a sneak peek into how they'll be celebrating this year. Clue: Zoom features, heavily.

From the iconic streetwear of Stone Island to LA's hottest label of the moment, Casablanca, and how to turn your Heron Preston loungewear into party-ready attire, this is what the fashion set are wearing this party season.

Since a young age I’ve grown up wearing Stone Island. It's always been something that I identify with, as a brand with strong identity and original, high quality fashion. Within my music and my personal style what I wear tends to represent who I am as a person, and so with the trousers I wanted to represent my creative flare, and with the jumper, I went for a more classic casual look - to represent both sides of my persona.

How will you be spending the festive season?
This Christmas I’m going to be spending time with family and loved ones - drinking, eating good food and just taking the time to appreciate the year that we’ve had and look forward to the year ahead.

You gotta be comfy in your garms at all times but make it look steezy.

Staying in is the new going out apparently, so I need an outfit that is comfortable yet stylish for the festive season. I love accessorising subtly to turn a simple outfit into a look. Comfort is key. Especially at home.

How will you be spending the festive season?
Appreciating my family and reflecting on all my blessings after this crazy year. Oh and Eating. Lots of eating.

The ultimate tip for a remote party?
Speakers. Huge speakers. And a crazy DJ line up.

I’m wearing a silk shirt by Casablanca, Gucci cuffed herringbone trousers and Gucci Horsebit loafers.  Christmas dress-up always calls for a silk shirt and right now, nobody makes em like Casablanca. For me, this one is very reminiscent of the '90s Versace shirts.

How will you be spending the festive season?
Taking a break from work and spending time with family. So, probably playing dodgy board games and beating my little brother at Chess and Subbuteo. It’s been a tough year not being able to spend proper time with family, so I’m really looking forward to it.

Good drinks, good tunes. Like me, you've probably spent most of the years in trackies so make sure you're making an effort with your look (only up top if on zoom) and even better... working Wifi..

I chose a sleek, simple, clean, black Ganni dress, slicked back my hair and chucked on some massive stompers. Sometimes simplicity is the best.

How will you be spending the festive season?
I'll be trying to visit family as safely as possible. Mostly I'll be sitting by a radiator with a big old plate of food.

What's your top tip for the ultimate remote party?
Tunes. And lights. As the long as the tunes are great and the lighting is sexy, the party's gonna be a beauty.
