Style Advisor: How To Wear Pink

Whether palest blush, candy coloured, fuchsia, or Instagram-worthy Millennial (if you don’t know what that is, look it up) SS17 has us all rethinking pink. In recent years, its saccharine, girly connotations have been swept away by a wave of contemporary designers embracing the colour. Even Gucci’s iterations of pink, embellished with bows and gold buttons, are grown-up enough for the modern woman to wear in a chic, cool manner. Pastel, printed or leather-bound, here are four ways to wear the colour of the season.

BLUSH CO-ORDINATES

Be pretty in pink with Fendi’s Scallop Trim bag. The sweetness of its palest salmon shade is contrasted by some heavy silver metal hardware. Team with a printed silk co-ordinate and barely-there sandals. Twice as nice.

EVERYDAY FEMININITY

Give an ultra-feminine, Gucci midi-skirt a modern update by teaming it with a pair of slick Valentino trainers. Mixing formal and casual elements is a great way to prevent your pink outfit becoming too girlish. Opposites attract.

A TOUCH OF PINK

For those a little afraid of colour, use it as a complimentary highlight to your outfit as opposed to the centrepiece. Team a contemporary LBD with Gucci’s soft-pink bamboo handle bag. Thoroughly modern.

ROSE PRINTED

For spring, there is possibly no better colour combination than pink and green. Show off a pair of Saint Laurent’s super-sweet Tribute 13 heels with cropped crepe trousers and a Dolce & Gabbana rose-printed vest.
